It was thought until very recently that goldfish had only a 3 to 21 second memory span and never slept. That myth has since been debunked. But I liked the idea and the Narcoleptic Goldfish was born. What would happen if you were a poor little goldfish and everytime you went to sleep you were thought to be dead? Where would it take you? The adventure begins.
So far I have one or two story boards and a collection of ideas. I have drawn some and written some but I would really like to find a partner for the concept. The act of collaboration pushes me to places that are more fun, funny and just fucking more than when I sit in a little bubble trying to create. Fuck that! I am looking for others to play with.

Old Man Bars of the Bay Area
Do you find old man dive bars fascinating? I do too! The odd lighting, the old weathered patrons, the dude walking in a 7 am when I am on my way to work, the way a PBR seems just a little bit special when clutched ever so lovingly by a wrinkled scared hand? What is not to love.
Let's tour these little nexuses of humanity... take pictures when they will let us, hear the stories when folks share them and just take it all in. If we can do that we can take what we discover, generate and experience and write about and display it.

Dynamic Tools!!!!
Hey Ladies,
I figured out enough rudimentary PHP / MySQL stuff that a lot of Blue tryp is going to be able to be dynamic!!! For example if you follow the link you could add a recipie with out me needing to hard code it!!! I am working on outputting the data in a nice way. But as I learned how to do what I wanted with that I figured out enough so I think, with some work, I could set up users, subscriptions, etc!!!!

I had a blast yeasterday. Thanks for coming over!! I plan on making a news desk tonight with Hazzy durring "Hazzy Mummy Time"
1) Develop a bio for "Ken the field Anchor" with possible story lines
2) Develop a bio for "Kelly Hippa" the newswoman with possible story lines
3) Build a news Desk
4) Finish pencil draft of the Narcoleptic Gold Fish
5) Complete the Grubbin' Database and hooking it up to the site
6) Hook-up blueTryp to google ads
7) Compile the first set of Free Stuff
8) Get the rough draft done of the new icons with toads

body Image
Hey there ladies,
I had two ideas for articles either in at large or in the word.
Both have to do with self image.
The first is just the in's and outs of Body Image in the Bay Area and what drives it from the average to the extreme. Here is what I started writting:
So I just turned 34. I spent last night watching "fix me" plastic surgery shows. And when asked my age on the phone yesterday I automatically spit out 32! And then had to correct myself much to my dismay. For me that was a wake up call. Yes, I was in denial. It happened to me.
I though I would take this "opportunity" to look in to (and write) about body image and aging in the Bay Area. Hopefully I will learn something useful for not just myself but also for someone else.
The second would be told from a personal point of view, one more so than the other. And would be more of a serial piece done of the course of the next year. Or maybe written over the next year and then published. Here is what I started writting:
Thinner: The Quest to Get Health and be happy with ones self
Okay, it should really be "MY quest to get healthy and not fat and be happy with MYself". By I am trying to take a larger view... which you can see in articles like "Body Image in the Bay Area{link}" I also believe I am one of many, many other thirty-somethings out there coming to terms with aging, imperfection and mortality. So to that end I pledge to be brutally honest with you the reader while I take you on my little adventures.
A bit of history.... I am 34, female, 5"2' and 237 lbs. (as of 12/28/04). Now, boys and girly you are all thinking "wow, what a cow" but to put it into perspective 5 years ago I weighed in at 320! With a hard core family history of diabetes that usually takes affect in the early to mid thirties. Little symptoms like having almost constantly cold hands, feet and face send bits of panic through me as does the occasional numbness in my hands and feet. EEEEEk. Now most of you are all... go to the doctor now. Well folks, like a lot bay area creative professionals I have no health insurance. And I would prefer to have some before I get diagnosed. So like it or not I am choosing to explore eastern medicine and lifestyle changes while bidding my time until I can afford insurance (hopefully next year).
The start - A sharp voice answers the phone with a fairly thick non sepecific asia accent "yes...???"

Logo Ideas
So I am trying to flesh out the content and come up with icon ideas and a logo concept. Whoo hooo. But as it turns out I have know ideas that are solid enough to draw. So I though I would list some ideas and if either of you liked any of them then exicute them...

1) Typography of BlueTryp, similar to what it there now, integreated with a "point A" "point B" type thing.
2) Some sort of styalized BT
3) Some sort of "boinging" hopping dot over Typography
4) "BlueTryp" typography with the "B" wearing a pith helmet and the rest of the word looking like a city skyline
5) and the junk I put in a pdf and will email you guys.

Ladies,
I have just spent the better part of 4 hours trying to get anything to publish to the bluetryp host... with no luck. As it turns out it is an error with Blogger and I wrote the techs there so hopefull the will get it resolved! God only hopes. Anyhow, I switched the hosting on this one.
